Supreme Court Won't Hear Lawsuit Opposing Border Wall Projects

Thanks to a Supreme Court decision, the Trump administration can move forward with construction on some sections of the border wall.

In February, a federal judge ruled the Trump administration could bypass some environmental laws to expedite construction of the border wall. On Monday, the high court denied a request from environmental groups seeking to overturn that decision.

The ruling applies to three projects along the border. Two will replace existing border fence that was built in the 1990s. One section is in the San Diego area; the other is about 90 miles east near Calexico. The third project, which is already complete, was the building of wall prototypes near San Diego.

Work on the two replacement sections started earlier this year.
