An average of 103.4 million people watched this year's Super Bowl on TV. That makes it the 10th-most watched program in U.S. television history, even though viewership was down 7 percent from last year's game.

NBC says viewership of the game peaked during the fourth quarter at 112.3 million. The network also says it was the most livestreamed Super Bowl ever with more than 2 million livestream views per minute.

Viewership numbers are likely to rise, though. The Nielsen Company, which tracks TV ratings, will release another estimate later this week, and that total will include those who watched "out of home," like at a restaurant or bar.
