U.S. Rep. Steve Cohen says he's going to introduce articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump.

Cohen, a Democrat from Tennessee who has criticized Trump in the past, said his decision came after Trump's comments on the "horrific events in Charlottesville, Virginia."

"You have some very bad people in that group, but you also had people that were very fine people on both sides," Trump said Tuesday.

Cohen took issue with those words, writing, "There are no good Nazis. There are no good Klansmen." He said Trump "failed the presidential test of moral leadership."

The president, vice president and all civil officers can be impeached for "treason, bribery or other high crimes and misdemeanors." It's unclear exactly what Cohen plans to charge Trump with.

Democratic Reps. Brad Sherman and Al Green brought impeachment articles against Trump in July. They claim the president obstructed justice by trying to intervene in the Michael Flynn investigation and firing former FBI Director James Comey.

In his announcement, Cohen pointed to potential obstruction of justice and violations of the Constitution's emoluments clause.
