While meeting with South Korea for the first time in more than two years, North Korea agreed to send a delegation to the 2018 Winter Olympics.

South Korea's Unification Ministry told reporters the North accepted the South's offer to send athletes, officials and even a cheering squad to the games In February.

South Korea also suggested the two countries march together during the opening ceremony and other joint activities. It's unclear if Pyongyang accepted that proposal.

The high-level talks between the two countries were held in the border village of Panmunjom. According to NBC, the discussion lasted more than an hour, and additional meetings are scheduled for the afternoon.
