There's a reason you might have recently noticed a lot more color in your GIF options.

In honor of Black History Month, GIF database and search engine Giphy put together a library of illustrations and animations "celebrating culture, identity and diversity."

Subchannels include Black Hair Illustrations, Black Love and Black Boy Joy.

In an interview with Mashable, Giphy culture editor Jasmyn Lawson shared her personal reason for wanting to reflect more diversity in GIFs: "I knew personally, just being a black woman, that if I'm going to work here and use the product, I want to use GIFs that represent me."
