Authorities have confirmed at least one person is dead and more than a dozen others are injured after a car hit pedestrians in New York City's Times Square.
Fire officials say the crash happened around noon Thursday.

And not long after, a police spokesperson said the driver of the car was taken into custody.
Law enforcement sources told several media outlets the driver has previous arrests for driving while intoxicated. Authorities believe this was an isolated incident and not an act of terrorism.
