Argentina authorities are considering war crimes charges against Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

The call for action comes just days before the crown prince is set to attend the G20 Summit in Buenos Aires.

Advocacy group Human Rights Watch, or HRW, filed a complaint with an Argentine federal prosecutor urging the crown prince be investigated for possible violations committed in the war in Yemen, as well as serious allegations of torture of civilians, including the murder of  journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

HRW points out that the crown prince can be prosecuted in Argentina under the constitution's universal jurisdiction.

HRW says Argentine courts could be an avenue for abuse victims who are "unable to seek justice in Yemen or Saudi Arabia."
