Mississippi Passed The Nation's Most Restrictive Abortion Law

Mississippi lawmakers passed what is considered the most restrictive abortion law in the country.

The state House and Senate passed a measure that prohibits abortions after 15 weeks, sending the bill to the governor's desk. The current law bans abortions after 20 weeks.

This bill has exemptions if the woman's health is in jeopardy or if there is a "severe fetal abnormality." But it does not have exceptions for circumstances like rape or incest.

Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant said he supports the legislation. He is expected to sign the bill into law.
